A 9-day itinerary to Iceland – a slow travel Icelandic adventure
Iceland has been a popular destination for several years. I remember when the madness began and Iceland started to break travel records. Suddenly everyone wanted to go there and I do not blame them. It is a different, very beautiful world. A trip to this alien-looking country has been on my bucket list for a while but somehow I took my time to make the move and get planning. After all a trip is only as good as your company and I finally managed to find the right one. There are many Iceland itineraries on the internet, making you drive for hours in order to see the whole island.
The 9-day Iceland itinerary
Day 1 Reykjavik – Fligh in and settle in the hotel, go eat, chill out
Day 2 Snaefellsnes Peninsula – 2h drive Peninsula Hikes and Waterfalls
Day 3 Snaefellsnes Peninsula – Whale Watching tour plus whale museum
Day 4 Golden Circle North – First stop is Silfra snorkeling then you continue with the sites around the northern part of the cirle till you arrive to your hotel + secret lagoon entrance at 5PM
Day 5 Going south to Vik – seeing Reynisfjara, the black sand beach, Park at Dyrhólaey Lighthouse, Skógafoss is one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, Kvernufoss, Seljalandsfoss,Solheimasandur Plane Wreck)
Day 6 Around Hof – Glacer Hike from Skaftafell
Day 7 – Jökulsárlón kayaking
Day 8 – Return Car Drive back to Reykjavik sightseeing on the way, Settle in the hotel, go see the city and relax
Day 9 – Walk and Chill out in the capital + Blue Lagoon before the flight, leave your bags at the airport, and use a shuttle service to the lagoon
